Cafe Sing (Radio Edit)

about

“CAFE SING” is a rhythmic, alternative R&B piece that paints a musical picture of where people come to chase their troubles away.

All these sad people / Sad and lonely like me / Don’t mean no harm / They just want to be free / Free from their lovers / And all the sorry they bring / That’s why they come here / To the Cafe Sing

Bassist/Producer/Songwriter Chip Ratliff says, “Writing the lyrics to this song was basically me drawing on my years of observing the patrons of the various bars and night clubs that I've performed at and visited. It was really written to paint a lyrical picture of this place called "Cafe Sing.”.

In addition, this song is a milestone for Chip. It is his first release after recovering from 2 brain surgeries within 90 days in 2015! “It’s all a result of faith, prayer, and never giving up! Always practicing my purpose!”

Cafe Sing has two very special guest: Jazz saxophonist, Chris Greene, and Chicago Blues guitarist, Fernando Jones! They add fire to an already hot track!

(Intro)

(1st Verse)
There's a woman in the corner looking dead at me
Don't know why she lookin'
Hope she like what she see
There's a man at the bar getting drunk as hell
His wife just left
He didn't take it too well
Now the people on the floor just wanna' touch and feel
Been comin' here so long
Don't know when love is real

(Chorus)
All these sad people
Sad and lonely like me
Don't mean no harm
They just wanna' be free
Free from their lovers
All the sorrow they bring
That's why we come here
To the Cafe Sing

(2nd Verse)
Now the bartender knows everybody by name
Knows everybody's story
'Cuz they're always the same
Somebody's lover left them, caused them so much pain
Their 'bout to go crazy
'Bout to go insane
But the people don't know there'll be a brighter day
They only come here
To cry their life away

(Chorus)
All these sad people
Sad and lonely like me
Don't mean no harm
They just wanna' be free
Free from their lovers
All the sorrow they bring
That's why we come here
To the Cafe Sing

(Sax solo by Chris Greene)

(Chorus)
All these sad people
Sad and lonely like me
Don't mean no harm
They just wanna' be free
Free from their lovers
All the sorrow they bring
That's why we come here
To the Cafe Sing

(Guitar solo by Fernando Jones)
